Silhouette Nativity Project

I have been dabbling in Pinterest a lot recently and came across a sweet way to make a nativity scene. Now, I changed it up a bit, but the original idea came from here!

In my living room, I have these corner shelves that I load up with holiday decorations in the fall. I have always wanted to display a nativity scene, but not painted characters, I wanted something different. I came across this brilliant pin of the nativity scene in picture frames; well,3 picture frames will not fit on a corner shelf so I had to improvise. I put them on 3 candles instead.

I cannot wait to put these up for Christmas. I will try to update this post with a Christmas picture!

  1. Those are beautiful, Christine!! I love them so much...I may have to borrow the idea for our mantle this Christmas. Did you paint directly on the candle, or on a piece of paper wrapped around it? If you did it on the candle, what type of paint did you use to get it to stick so well?
